"IP Invalid" Status In Config Tool

Last Updated: Apr 27, 2015 07:09AM EDT
Evolution cameras will perform best with a gigabit Network. We recommend using a gigabit switch plus using a video server or NVR with a gigabit network capabilities. A cat5e cable and above is also recommended

The Evolution camera is shipped with a default static IP address of 192.168.0.200 and with DHCP turned on.
So if you have an "IP Invalid" status in Config Tool, it means your camera Static IP address or assigned IP address does not fit the current configuration of your network or your PC is on a different Network
There are different ways to resolve this:
1. With DHCP server on your network: The configuration tool is designed to assign your camera with an Auto IP address in the "169.254.xxx.xxx" range in this sort of circumstances. This should give you access to the camera web page and while you are at the camera web page turn DHCP on (Refer to FAQ on assigning static IP address for more details). It's also important to check the network settings on your PC.

2. Without a DHCP server on your network: Again, the configuration tool will assign your camera with an Auto IP address in the 169.254.xxx.xxx range. Here you will need to change either the static IP address of your camera (refer to FAQ on assigning static IP address for more details) or that of your PC and make sure both are on the same network range.
